General Information

The geographical location is a one of the most important factors to produce specialty coffee.

More than a coffee farm

The three farms owned and operated by K-FÉ (Finca San José, Finca San José La Cumbre and Finca El Ángel) are located in El Salvador’s Golden Belt, a region known as the Apaneca-Ilamatepec Mountain Range. This belt has the ideal conditions to produce exceptional quality coffee.
  • Altitude: 1,300 to 1,750 meters
  • Rich and Fertile Volcanic Soil
  • Various Micro Climates
  • Abundant Rainfall
Our ancestors visualized the opportunity and benefits this location brought to the coffee and settled their farms in this privileged area.
These natural benefits combined with our effective and tailored treatment systems (pruning system, selective picking system, fertilizing programs) allow us to proudly categorize our coffee beans as “Specialty Arabica Gourmet Coffee”.

The coffee coming from this region is backed by its certificate of origin (D.O.) of Sierra Apaneca/ Ilamatepac. DO designates the origin of a product; in this case of coffee, whose quality and characteristics are due solely to the geographical environment where it is grown. this includes climate, temperature and soil. In addition, it certifies that producers comply with international quality standards.
